We spoke to Sam Bailey, our Recruitment Director, to get his views and feelings on the new branch of the business.

Q:What sets Let’s Recruit apart from its competitors?
Sam: “At Let’s Recruit, we believe in quality over quantity. Our recruiters are internal, and that makes them driven to find the right fit for the roles we have available.
The current state of the recruitment sector is a never-ending cycle of sky-high recruitment fees and an ever-growing need for recruitment. Which in turn is bleeding the industry dry.
The legal sector of recruiting needs to see a change for it to be able to thrive and succeed in getting people back into conveyancing and seeing it as a lifetime career again.”
Q:So why pick a recruiter to assist in securing the job role as opposed to just applying through our website for roles?
Sam: “Most people don’t understand the benefit of using a recruiter in general. We do a lot more than just email your CV to the Hiring Manager.
Personally, I think this agency has placed a lot more emphasis on the personality of a candidate than other recruitment agencies would. There is little to no point in hiring someone you don’t think will be a good match for the office. I'd rather spend more time finding the perfect fit in both senses.
Using a recruiter has the advantage of potentially creating a conversation around a candidate who is applying for the available position. The recruiter can learn more about the person and their experience and circumstance than can be conveyed in a CV.
It's important to me and Let's Recruit to find someone who matches the personality of the office as well as the skills for the position. My slogan has become ‘You can teach skills; you can’t teach personality. ’”
Q:What would you say are the most important aspects recruiters are looking for in applicants?
Sam: “I am looking for candidates to give real-world working examples of their skills when I speak with them. Using real-world examples shows a level of understanding that a CV cannot.
Giving me real-life examples and situations you have been in where you displayed your skills is the exact thing I am looking for; it is individual and better emphasises the skills you have acquired in your working life.
Anyone can list keywords on a CV. I want to hear how you have implemented these skills in past roles.”
